In Part 2 of our conversation with Eric Boduch, Pendo co-founder and founder of 24 and Up, we explore the world of venture studios.
Who is Eric Boduch?
A recap since this is pt 2, catch part 1 → ERIC BODUCH PART 1
Eric Boduch is a serial entrepreneur and one of the Triangle’s most successful startup founders. Best known as a co-founder of Pendo, Eric has built a career at the intersection of engineering, product, and startup leadership. Long before Pendo, Eric was coding as a kid, launching his first startup during the dot-com boom, and steadily building deep expertise in product management, marketing, and international business. Today, he’s taking his wealth of experience into a new chapter: quietly building a venture studio.

Listen/Watch Our Interview:
This conversation was so long and dense with great information that we decided to cut the episode into 2 parts. In Part 1 , Eric opens up about:
His early love for computers, coding, and how he balanced academics and athletics growing up in Western Massachusetts.
Choosing Carnegie Mellon, discovering his entrepreneurial itch, and launching his first company, Cerebellum, alongside Todd Olson (now Pendo’s CEO).
The hard lessons learned during the dot-com crash and how those experiences shaped his approach to product and company-building.
His post-Cerebellum journey, including roles at ProductSoft, Embarcadero, and Vitria, which gave him global business perspective and public company experience.
The early days of Pendo — from its unique name and pink dinosaur mascot to the challenges of building a new product category.
His belief that we’re entering a “golden era” of product management powered by AI — and why deeply understanding customer problems remains the superpower.
This time, we’re going further in Eric’s story. We talk above:
What a venture studio is and how Eric's 24 and Up model co-creates companies with entrepreneurs, acting as an "unpaid co-founder."
The origin stories of Revcast (revenue optimization), Wayfound (AI agent performance management), Troop (brand story consistency with AI), and Sesame (digital identity marketplace), including which ideas came from within the studio and which were external.
Eric's perspective on managing multiple companies simultaneously and the team structure at 24 and Up.
A candid discussion on the Triangle's startup ecosystem, including its strengths in technical talent and successful founders, and areas needing development like early-stage venture capital.
