About Bionic
Founded in 2022 by Tweener Fund GP and serial founder, Robbie Allen and Dr. Jared Pelo. According to Crunchbase, Bionic raised $3m from investors including Idea Fund Partners, Alumni Ventures, AI Fund, Studio VC and Triangle Tweener Fund.
Bionic Health delivers AI‑powered preventive and longevity care. Membership includes advanced lab testing, continuous data ingestion from wearables, AI‑augmented insights, and tailored action plans delivered by physicians and health coaches. Bionic’s Healthspan program emphasizes measurable outcomes and sustainable habit change.
Details of the Deal
This merger For Bionic means that Bionic members will now get
Expanded clinical products - Under the Thrive brand, members will gain access to medical weight loss (including GLP‑1–based protocols where appropriate) and hormone replacement therapy for men and women, alongside Bionic’s physician‑led testing, AI‑augmented analysis, and personalized coaching.
Broader access, same care standards - Thrive’s nationwide telehealth footprint increases reach while preserving Bionic’s physician‑first, outcomes‑oriented model.
For Thrive, Bionic Health demonstrates how advanced diagnostics plus generative AI and machine learning—integrating labs, vitals, wearables, and clinical context—can detect risk earlier, individualize interventions, and sustain behavior change. With Thrive’s distribution and operational scale, Bionic can extend this longitudinal model of care to more markets and partner channels while continuing to measure what matters: healthspan gains that members can see and feel.
Leadership Going Forward…
As part of the transaction, Dr. Jared Pelo, Bionic Health co‑founder, becomes CEO of Thrive, aligning clinical protocols and product strategy to expand access to high‑touch preventive care.
“This is a builder’s win,” said Dr. Jared Pelo, co‑founder of Bionic Health and CEO of Thrive. “We created Bionic to push medicine upstream—find risk early, intervene precisely, and track outcomes over time. Joining Thrive lets us scale Healthspan faster and add proven offerings like medical weight loss and HRT while staying relentlessly outcome‑focused.”
Robbie Allen, Bionic Health co‑founder, added: “As serial entrepreneurs, Jared and I built Bionic to operationalize ‘Medicine 3.0’ with real‑world results. Partnering with Thrive amplifies that vision and rewards the execution our team has delivered. We’re excited to accelerate the roadmap and bring Healthspan to many more people.”
Congrats to Robbie and Jared and the team at MDO Holdings on the transaction!
